Traditional Oriental Medicine uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, and diet. It is a complete and ancient system of medicine with its own forms of diagnosis and treatment.  The body is seen as an energetic system through which Qi, which can be translated as energy, and blood flow through the body via the organs and meridian channels.

When the Qi and Blood are in balance and flowing freely there is good health.  When the Qi and Blood are blocked or out of balance there is illness, pain, emotional imbalance and poor health.

The Treatments

The practitioner of Oriental Medicine figures out where the body’s imbalances are using the patient’s history, pulse and tongue diagnosis, face color, tone of voice, odor, and areas of sensitivity.

Many imbalances are immediate, usually due to trauma, and should be treated as soon as possible to prevent blockage of the Qi and blood.  Immediate treatment will speed up the healing process and help prevent chronic problems.
